What to Expect: Walkability and commutability. You can walk to a variety of restaurants serving food from many different cultures. There are also grocery stores, and many retail shops. Parks are only a five to ten minute walk away, including the expansive David Balfour Park. Enjoy the nature trails and ravine, then walk home to your urban condo. Commuting is very easy, since St. Clair subway station is located here. There are also buses running along Yonge Street, and streetcars on St. Clair Avenue West. If you want to drive it will take about twenty minutes to get to the Don Valley Parkway or Lakeshore Boulevard. There are also schools, churches, and a public library.
What NOT to Expect: If you are looking for Toronto’s entertainment venues, you'll need to commute to theatre, nightclubs, or concert venues. Don't worry though, the commute is always a quick one!
A Day in the Life: Start the day with the city views from your Yonge-St Clair condo, then walk to a coffee shop a few doors down. Stroll through the parkette and meet a friend for a game of chess. Go shopping at your favourite store for a new jacket and scarf, then buy a new book for the weekend. Stop for a cool drink at a restaurant on Yonge Street, where you can enjoy watching people walk by the patio. Meet your husband for dinner at your favourite Thai restaurant, then walk home for desert on your condo deck.
In Summary: Yonge-St Clair is a midtown neighbourhood with a tradition of stylish buildings and a relaxed lifestyle.
